LeRoy Transfer Station Summer Hours

There have been many changes to REACT transfer station and landfill sites. Please see the following posters for more details on their new fees and guidelines.  As of June 13, 2018 the following changes have been implemented regarding compost:

Due to the high volume of complaints regarding compost fees, the fees have been changed slightly from the information that was sent out effective May 1st.

The charge for compost will be according to the size of the load brought out to transfer site.  This will be determined at the site operator’s discretion.  A full residential pickup truck or trailer load of compost or tree branches will be a fee of $5.00 and a bag of grass clippings or leaves will be .50 cents.  The fee for smaller loads of tree branches or wood will be determined by the site operator.

The fees for compost are separate from the fees for bagged garbage.  Residents will be allowed to bring one bag of garbage out for a $2.50 minimum instead of paying the minimum of $5.00.  All other waste fees remain the same as the updated amounts from below as of May 1, 2018.

The fees for compost were implemented as there are additional costs associated with managing the compost piles.  These costs increase when maintenance or transfer site operators have to remove materials that should not be left with clean wood (ie – tree branches) or compost.
